c. 1806. Commander James Poate. This interesting sitter was in the leading funeral barge, which sailed up the Thames, at Nelson’s funeral. With history, the miniature comes with a silver buckle belonging to James Poate. Set in the original locket frame with hair reverse, 2 ½”.
