William A. Breakspeare was a London Genre painter. A Foundation Member of the Birmingham Art Circle. Breakspeare studied in Paris where he was influenced by Thomas Couture. He was also a member of the Newlyn School in Cornwall.
Breakspeare exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy from 1891 through to 1903. He was also known to exhibit at the Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street and at the Grosvenor Gallery. Elected RBA 1883, RBSA 1884 & ROI 1896
