The curved top rail with scrolled top lip and ends, curving gently round in the shape of an ellipse and swooping gently downward to form leather covered and moulded arm rests. The back with inset, curved caned section, supported by a central rectangular column, the scroll carved arm supports with carved leaf detailing. The serpentine front seat rail moulded and the rear rail forming a u-shape The bergere seating surface with removable leather covered seat swab. The rear legs in cabriole form, the fronts in facetted inverted vase shape terminating in brass caps and castors. ProvenancePrivate collection Dorset LiteratureEnglish, William IV, circa 1835.
