Description
A 19th century Victorian burr walnut veneered one door pier cabinet.
The cabinet has gilt metal mounts and gallery and is inlaid with boxwood. The cabinet has a single glazed door and a lock and key, with gilt metal beading to the edge of the glazing and patrea decorations to the corners.
The cabinet stands on a shaped plinth base and has inlaid panels with gilt metal mounts either side of the door while the top has an inlaid concave mould just below. The two interior shelves have a walnut and boxwood inlaid edge and are covered in a red velvet to match the rest of the interior.
The cabinet is in good original unrestored condition, the red velvet interior does shoe signs of wear and the key is a replacement. (Circa 1870)
