Victorian Mahogany Antique Bookcase
This stunning Victorian mahogany antique bookcase ca 1860 has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze and two glazed cupboard doors with arched mouldings, key and working lock. The interior has three adjustable shelves. The lower section has a rectangular top above a shaped frieze drawer with half rounded moulding (a small chip), two beautifully figured cupboard doors with carved mouldings and scrolled, carved corbels. The interior has one fixed shelf. The bookcase stands on a plain plinth, has original back boards, splits into two sections, is a rich warm medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
