Description This is a super fancy Dutch silver Box. The box is square with a flared border around the bottom, on which the box sits. This border is decorated with pierced swags and raised floral detailing on the corners. Around the sides are a series of three panels on each side. Each panel has a little scene and each one is different. There are six individual scenes in all, as they are mirrored on the opposite side of the box. They include, a man and his hound, a lady playing a harp, a courting couple, a drummer boy, two cherubs playing a cello and a soldier and hound. The box has a square lid, which slots onto the box. This has raised detailing around the sides and the flat lid protrudes a few millimeters over the edge. The top of the box is decorated with a scene showing a lady on horse back being greeted by a gentleman doffing his tri-corn hat.
Condition The box is in 95% mint condition – just light wear.
Signed/Inscribed The box has Dutch silver marks on the base.
