Superb 19th Century Grandmother Clock

Description

A quality and proportioned mahogany miniature longcase clock (Also known as Grandmother clock). The solid mahogany case has a break arch hood, reeded side pillars, a long door and an inset circular panel within the base. The traditional brass dial has corner spandrels, and a silvered chapter ring with a finely hand enraved centre. It is signed by the makers "Pidduck & Sons ", Hanley. It has a well made 8 day weight driven movement that strikes the hours on a gong, complete with brass encased weights and pendulum.


Provenance

Henry Pidduck is listed as a maker in 1842-1868, he was joined by his Sons in 1868 and the business continued until 1876


Current Condition

The case retains its original finish. The dial has been restored and the movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
