Guillaume Seignac was born in Rennes. He was a student of Bouguereau, Tony Robert-Fleury and Gabriel Ferrier. He went on to paint allegorical subjects, figures, genre scenes and symbolism. He was
a member of the Artistes Francais from 1901 and was represented at its Salon, receiving an honourable mention in 1900 and a third class medal in 1903. Seignac enjoyed bringing back to life the canons of classical antiquity in compositions with symbolist tendencies.
