Description

A rare and superb quality English needlework or embroidery stand, circa 1690 - 1700, with the tambour hoop supported on an adjustable "ball and socket" mechanism, on a beautifully turned stem, with a circular turned base raised on three small turned legs.

This wonderful object is a rare survival relating to early domestic craft, and a certain conversation piece in any setting.
