Description

Circa 1810, late George III rosewood open bookcase/folio cabinet. The rosewood rectangular top has a neat fore edge and cast brass letter V in the centre indicating this was part of a set. Below the top is a small recess and moulding. On the fore edge there are 2 stylish flat inverted pilasters. There are 2 adjustable shelves with slatted supports, and the bottom of the inside of the bookcase is also veneered in rosewood. The gables are panelled with a stylish beaded framing all round and below the base there is a very stylish brass moulding. The bookcase stands on an enclosed plinth. Excellent colour and condition. A rare piece of furniture of this period.

Size 93cm high x 99.5cm wide x 45cm deep.
