Description

Chinese biscuit porcelain square shaped brush washer made for the scholar's table. Decorated in the famille verte colours that are often referred to as egg and spinach colours or sancai glazed. A very elegant example and a rare object. Excellent potting as often for something of such high ideals has faults either in potting or firing.
The corners are incised and on the shoulder there is scrolling lotus in the moulding.
