Description

A set of six pairs of horn-handled knives and forks, with curving steel blades beautifully engraved in German "Andenken von H. Knapp, aus Ohligs". Wonderful for fruit or cheese! (Germany, 19th century)

Knives 8 1/2" long (21.6cm)
Forks 7 1/2" long (19cm)

Ohligs were makers of cutlery and other items of steel manufacture near Solingen (Germany) from early times, and were involved in developing the same industry in the Durham (England) area in the 17th century
