The characteristic Edinburgh case is of excellent colour, with a swan-necked top and inset boxwood frets. The trunk has quarter columns and crossbanding, with boxwood stringing to the trunk door. The movement runs for 8 Days and sounds the hours on a single bell. Literature* George Pringle is listed in Baillie’s ‘Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World’ Vol. 1, page 258 as working in Edinburgh between 1793 and 1822. |
