Description
A fine George II mahogany bell top bracket clock Jonathan Hasler, London. The five-pillar, twin fusee rack and bell striking movement with verge escapement and vines & flowers within foliate scroll engraved back plate inscribed Jo’n Hasler, London.
The 7” brass dial with silvered chapter ring cornered by floral vine spandrels, with a matted brass centre with dummy pendulum aperture, twin winding holes, makers cartouche and date window. The arch with “strike-silent” selector. The mahogany bell-top case, retaining superb original colour & patina with hinged carrying handle, fretwork sounding infill each side of the arch, the sides with glazed apertures, circular fretwork sounding apertures to the top, on moulded base mahogany pad feet. A fine early specimen, retaining good colour and patina and in excellent condition throughout.
