Description

A magnificent portico clock in a Biedermeier styled case, with beautifully figured quilted birch veneers and ormolu mounts.

Silvered 4" dial, signed Jacquin à Paris

A good quality eight-day movement with off-centre beat adjustment screw to the crutch.

Compensated gridiron pendulum with gilt decorative bob.

The movement still has what we believe to be its original springs, scratch-marked 1835.
