Description

Circa 1860, exhibition quality Louis XVI style rosewood, ormolu and marble topped 3 door French vitrine of generous proportions. The top of the cabinet has a wonderful bevel moulded variegated rouge marble, and below is a rosewood frieze framed with brass and ormolu mounts. The break front cabinet has its original mirror back and 3 glass shelves, with double glazing on each door and the sides. Each of the glazed doors is framed in wonderful cast ormolu Rococo mounts, and the front rosewood fore edge has castings on the top and bottom and chamfered edges. Below the doors is a shaped apron, which again has ormolu mounts, and the cabinet stands on 6 cabriole legs fitted with wonderful castings. The cabinet is in excellent condition, with wonderful colour and great patina.

Size approximately 197cm high x 183cm wide x 45cm deep.
