Description

We have a pair of these extraordinary 19th century carved mahogany panels.
They were removed from the Argentinian Embassy ,Rio De Janeiro Circa 1979 .
The panels are beautifully carved in high relief into solid mahogany, then gilded,and surrounded in the original paint.
Each panel has a diffrent central theme, one of an Bow and a quiver full of arrows and the other of a flaming torch and large paddle.
Intertwinned foliage emerging from a large decorated urn to the base, garlands and draped flowers to the centres..


Provenance

By repute removed from the Argentinian Embassy ,Rio De Janeiro, Circa 1979.
