Description

A simply beautiful rare Daghestan prayer rug woven with the date 1898. Finely woven with truly stunning colours typical of rugs from the Caucasus, this rug is pictured in Raymond Benardout's 1983 'Antique Rugs' publication along with several other Caucasian rugs we have on offer. These Caucasian rugs have been in a private collection for over 30 years, many in perfect condition.

Excellent. Both sides have been rewoven along time ago, clearly by a master restorer as the work is exceptional.
