Description

An important Mid 18th Century padouk/pallisander Breakfront Bookcase in the manner of Mayhew & Ince, having moulded & arched double top with vitruvian scroll, ribbon & swag satinwood inlaid cornice, centred with oval panel & similar ribbon & husk carving, above glazed doors enclosing later silk lining & glass shelves. The base, kingwood crossbanded throughout, fitted with secretaire drawer with boldly carved urn & swag decoration above panelled cupboard doors with concave corners & carved roundels, flanked by concave cockbeaded drawers supported on moulded plinth base
